I did post this yesterday, but must have been deleted accidently by Daddio, easily done as I know only too well, anyways not to worry. Just a warning for everyone, I accidently clicked on one of those junk posts and picked up a virus. It took me two days to get my computer working properly again, every time I went on line I was bombarded with pop ups and adverts, I couldn't even access the forum to log in.
I think might be better to close to forum for a few days until the breach is isolated. I was expecting them to lead to viruses but for many of us using notebooks with a touchpad, it could be hard to not click on one of these.
I suggest instituting new forum software that comes with built in spammer prevention. But apparently it's too much like work to institute.
I recommend Ad Block Plus for the browser, it's free : https://adblockplus.org/ That will remove all your ADS. And if you want something extra try : Eset Smart Security, a really nice ( efficient ) antivirus + firewall with very low system requirements.
Ad Block won't do much in this case, it's about the spam bots here who keep on posting, Ad Block doesn't remove them from your screen. I see less o f them recently is it due to them posting less or Daddio deleting them before I see them ?
