Any status on the terrain generation mod? (@Cavalli)

    According to one of your posts a month ago or so you mentioned wanting to edit terrain generation so i kinda wanted to ask if you could specify your plans for this.

    As far as im concerned personally id love to implement terrain generation into my mod that makes the maps look better if thats what you are working on.

    If terrain is made with different textures than those in the game, then the game performance will be affected? Im asking this because I like to play in very big maps and I use to mod the map sizes.

    Hi Wralth, i’ll see what I can do - it basically revolves around the .pattern files - for a start you can replace those used in Random maps with ones that are available but not used (lakes are a good example) fairly easily. What Ebel pointed out is that you can create and save your own patterns in the editor, and then use those in maps too, so I’d begun replacing silly hillocks and stone mines with fields and rivers. I’m slowed by constant crashing of the editor and terrible water placement, however, and so news has been thin.

    No new textures needed - I think the game is fine graphically, but the current terrain isn’t conducive to realistic line battles with my realistic firing system.
