Well there is a player I know who often plays up to 30 mins. peace times with up to 8 players and has lots of great games that do not crash. Some crash but many are great games he tells me. I play shorter games and don't have much trouble with bugs. My main problem lately is that I keep getting beaten shortly after the end of 10 mins peace time.
Same problem I encountered once. Exactly the same, but it looked bit different, the difference where the army of musketeers was were much more ridiculous - the enemy army of musketeers was on one hill, I had army of dragoons, send them to attack, and my dragoons went just 180° back direction and went senselessly to totally different place on the map and were killed from "invisible silent ghost army" on place, where no army was on screen... But this happened only once, now is everything OK mostly. About game crashing - i still don't understand, why they didn't make save game in multiplayer possible...! It would temporarily "bypass-solved" the problem with MP-game crashing and much more...With my friends we often play long games for hours and only thing I am still hoping for that they will make save game for multiplayer!
Yes, units appear to shoot through buildings, though I imaginatively tell myself they are shooting from the corner (taking cover with the head and gun poked around the corner(s) of the building). I also had France's Kings Musketeers shoot through a stone wall! Though they are so tall and the stone walls so low, it almost looks like, on horseback, they can shoot over the wall.
Has anyone else had the gate bug? So you have a stone wall surrounding your town, you build a gate. You play the game like usual, the enemy attacks, you see the enemy is heading towards your gate to get into your base, so close the gate, the enemy units literally walk through closed gate!! Houdini himself could not perform such magic. Apart from the stone wall destroy delete bug, this is the worst, it costs you the game.
Ftoomsh I have had to settle for that fiction, as well. I know, through extensive testing of player made maps in CoH, at least with their map editor, that it is not possible to shoot through buildings, bluffs and hills.
Steam have a deadline for refunds, I tried to refund mine and was out of luck so just modded the hell out of it and don`t play multiplayer, only against AI. The other way around would be if you paid them using the Paypal thiefs, then you can try to obtain a refund. Sad, but the game has turned into a flop.
Problem with the Walls. 1. Peasants goes like crazy and can't build wall normally they go around or start building from furthest location they are. 2. Walls around hills and mountains can't be build enclosed. The wall looks if it hugs mountain but it still has gap and enemy raiders or any units may pass it. If I build wall and it ends to the mountain it must be finished that no one might get it passed. Ofc in future id wish to get feature like it was before by pressing "Q" you could see walls or places inaccessible
I have got the same problem and it drives me crazy while i am playing multiplayer. Could game developers add average team points near map as it was in cossacks back to war? It would be nice to see it, because we can't even watch who is in which team.
You can only Que up, 12 buildings per group of peasants. Atfer the 12 are built you need to give instructions for them to start again.
You are not building them properly and leave a gap. Even if it shows as a red block, you need to see if its because of the mountain or because of trees. Sometimes trees would not allow the wall to be build and leave a gap. More interestingly, if you try to build wall on the same place again, it works often...Also, sometimes you may leave a gap between the end of the map (black expanding universe) and the wall and units can go through it. BTW - the idiotic demolition of walls and buildings by nearby enemies, even if you have guards, literally stacked on them, still exists. When I was testing my mod I also found more interesting features of the AI - if you send one of your first pikemen on a normal map to the enemy camp, the AI has no guards neither will move units to intercept him, so he just walks around and destroys buildings under constr. and takes peasants. Also, I did remove some mercenaries for some nations and they got much stronger in playstyle - they produce immense quantities of archers and use them as human shields in front of janissaries for example. Put Sich Cossacks and Grenadiers in the diplo and they`d startspawning groups of 10-12 units only.
I didn't know that So i should build dwellings more focused and don't exceed 12 buldings per group and everything should be fine. Wow, i ve gotta try But : "Could game developers add average team points near map as it was in cossacks back to war? It would be nice to see it, because we can't even watch who is in which team." is in my opinion nice option which, i think, isn't hard to implement into game. PS: Will be more updates/ patches to the game?
i think last patch nuked again this game, i have isues @ all games after last update, sync problems, no orders again, cant finish games in multiplayer
For the modders reading this thread, where is the number that limits the queue? And is there is any reason for a modder not to increase it, say to 24? I found this in dmscript.global: gc_ai_max_construction_sites = 12; Does this affect only AI or the human user too?
Very annoying bug, that I have encountered yesterday: I ordered the peasants to build 3rd XVII cent. barracks (shitload of money) and after it was "built", only foundation was visible and the building itself was totally transparent and useless.
