Actually the game has such little advertising it's very easy to not even have a clue it's being made. I my self only found out because a Russian friend of mine posted a link to me on Steam a few months back.

The game will be released on Steam mainly although the devs have mentioned it's possible that other sites will sell the game and a retail version is planned going from the info in the FAQ thread. Pre-order was planned for July-August, or that is what was said back in June but obviously that is no longer the case. We have no idea when the pre-order will be available. The game is planned to release at the end of this year.

Hi, it's good to see new members here, you can read FAQ. And answer to your question: "Cossacks 3 will be available on Steam mainly. It is possible that other digital distribution resources will be added to the list. Also retail version planned." :)

Go into the general forums and explore a bit and visit the announcements you will find all the information you need. There will be hard-copy available in selected areas, and the game will be released on steam.

Welcome to the English C3 forum Troels.

Yes we are all very excited about the re-release of this game. It has been stated that the game will be released on Steam as the main form of distribution. But that hard copies will be available in limited quantities. Even a per-order will be available if that is what you prefer.

    according to FAQ
    expected release day 4Q 2015

    now we have almost 3 Q 2016,
    it is pretty delayed,

I wonder what the typical delay of PC games is, every month without sells costs a lot of money. I am wondering if the have the money to do that.

Yes they were incorrect about when the game would be released.

I have never seen any statistics about the average amount of time that a game is delayed from the original prediction. But I am sure that someone has those numbers somewhere.

I can say that this is pretty normal for GSC. Each game release since the original C1, has taken much longer to come to market than was predicted. Sometimes by years.

It seemed that C2 took forever, and was even interrupted and further delayed by a different games release on the same engine (Alexander).

And yes no income for a game still in development. But think of the consequences of a rushed game, that fails before it has a chance to reach its full potential.

GSC is famous for slow to release, and poor communications with their devoted fan base. But they always come through with a strong presentation and hours even years of great gaming for us once it arrives.

So hang in there, its coming,................ Someday..................SOON!

    Good gaming all,

    Hmmmmmm,

you are trying to say that the game will release at least in the next year right? okay, maybe that's good for the game,

but why they published the expecting release day and make us waiting ?? why they keep us hanging between the news and the hope?

    that's very bad, that's awefull !!

just someone come out and tell us honestly when the release date?

    offffffffffffffffff,

Mark my word July/August 2016 the game will be released. Once beta testing has finished they only have to organize through steam to upload and market the game. It's not like the old days where the game was a physical copy and had to be sent off to be mastered and copied to thousands of CD's/DVD's packed into DVD/CD cases with a manual, boxed and then finally distributed around the world (which could take a month in itself). GSC only have to upload the game to steam and then the staff at steam take care of the rest.

I am however still wondering how cossacks 1 and AQ could be released in the first place. Both games were pretty bugged.
C1: doing first 300% stone and then 100% stone upgrade was a disaster
C1: go there and attack all units on the way sometimes does not work and musketeers run simple without attacking, also sometimes they simple stooped
C1: formations did not work they simple stopped and required too much micromanagment

Luckily formations were NOT mandatory (except for early pike rushes), otherwise nobody would liked C1.

AQ had the same problems, sometimes units stop if I tell them go there. They stop even if they dont attack anything (that did not happen in C1). But formations were MANDATORY in this game, +5 shield, +3 melee attack and +accuracy when shooting. And due to morale and fleeing soldiers simply mandatory.

I am still wondering how they could release the game, they should have noticed that formations were buggy. How about only a small bonus for formations? No lets make them a must have to enjoy the bugs even more.

Also fort/fortress attacks with cannons bears, deer or a single soldier, and a cannon ball can hit your own building due to being inaccurate. Buildings burn down. I dont know if I consider that a bug or being very, very stupid.

I have no problem with smaller bugs for example, text tells +1 bonus but the ingame bonus is +2. But I am still wondering how C1 and Aq could be released in the first place.

There is a page about Valve Time: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Valve_Time
Based on this, delays are usual in game development.

Firstly, I was optimist that release will be in June-July but now I am reconsidering and thinking about September-October. Most games are released in that period so maybe Cossacks will be too.
To be honest I am mostly collecting money for summer sales, winter sales but I am pretty patched in September and October. So yea my opinion is that Cossacks is actually delayed to late Q3 or early Q4.
You got to deal with it guys, every game today is being "delayed" in some way, not sure why this is a "thing" but only we do have to do is wait.
