I would love to play Alexander, this often forgotten GSC game. I played the demo once, and I was looking forward to buy a downloadable version, which I would prefer to a physical copy of it. Someone of you knows where I could buy it? It's worth to buy, I mean, does it works on modern windows (I have windows 7 which is not so modern indeed) and on higher resolution? Thanks
I have the game. And I enjoyed it very much. It was well animated, and the units were much smaller than C2 which used the same engine. I always thought that if the units in C2 were the same size that they would solve the small map problem. But, I do not think the game did very well. It was released and not really supported, Some aggravating bugs were never addressed, and the game just sort of died. The recommended OS was XT if I remember correctly, and likely would not run well on Win 7, 8, or 10.
I know that it works well under Windows 7 x64 with 1920x1080 resolution. However I don't know it works on Win 10.
GSC should make a game about the wars of Ancient Rome. In this game we could see Rome , Carthage, Gauls, Germans, Britons, Egyptians, Parthians, Spartans , Athenians , Spaniards, Etruscans , Scythians, Macedonians , Persians, Bactrian faction , Numidians, Thracians, Daks and Seleucid Monarchy.
There is already 0 A.D. which kind of in the same line, old style rts during the antiquity, I don't know if economically it would be interesting for them to try.
Alexander an awesome, was like no other when online PC-mag introduced me to it. To be honest, GSC Gameworld only needs expanded team and bigger resources, and for god sakes, global community manager that can communicate things between sides. Skeptical about remasters from current team, given the broken Cossacks 3 promises it came out with.
you can download the game here : http://www.americanconquest.info/alexander (征服美洲大中华区游戏平台 ) . This game can not run on Win 10, but it run on win7.
