how many new DLC/addons/patches will come in the future.

  1. Lol Venice has been trolled the whole way through, in the original they only got one? I think it was a ship (but a good one at that), which makes sense.

Along comes Mod1 after that and adds unique pike and musket units, clearly shaun noticed how little they had, so thought it worthy.

I reckon one of the developers had a really nasty time in venice once, and now is determined to make revenge! :p

I could've been almost certain they would've added one by now, but maybe they're waiting to add a campaign as the opportunity to use it, They seem to have followed that logic with the likes of spain.(They added cosselette but they also have a unique 17th c musket unit.)

If they're watching this, I honestly, really don't mind if a new unit doesn't come with another campaign! i'm sure many others would agree.

  4. I loved the amount of nations you could play as on American conquest, but there were some things that I don't like about it, but in hindsight, this is due to the shift in the nature of thinking that was clearly happening at the studio, they were pushing for as much realism as possible, which of course manifested itself as Cossacks 2, wbich, by all accounts of the old school, was a complete departure from Cossacks 1, American conquest represented a kind of transition phase, using the old engine, whilst implementing some of the newer concepts we got with number 2

For e.g I hated having to recruit 100 peasants before I could get 100 soldiers, there were no buildable walls.

I would like an American conquest that was closer to what Cossacks 1/3 are. I treat number 2 as a noble experiment, but not one that paid off in terms of fun/building, I love games where theres a big focus on base building, It also felt very slow and buggy.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's brilliant that GSC team realised this, and went back to what made it so good. It takes guts to do that. Just look at what's happened to greats like dawn of war and command and conquer, been ruined by all the experimenting with the formula that made them legendary.

I believe this is what made Cossacks 1 sell so well, it's depth made age of empires 2 look very tame.

That's why I added Cossacks' Palisade wooden walls and the native American trading post to European nations in a mod for the game. You can check it out in my topic on the Fight Back Steam forums. Containing the native American hordes was really fun.
