I'm a dedicated Cossackplayer from Norway! It was love at first sight! I think the game become better and better after all upgrades, patches etc etc. And I have tried out all the different mods and I'm very impressed over the modders level! You are clever guys! Really! One of the newest modes are small maps. A brilliant mode for a quick 1x1 battle. In old Cossacks, when I was playing against friends, we always used the biggest map, 16x. With that map we had size and time to meets on the battlefields, like they do in that time. The war was "out there" somewhere. My question to the modders are: Is it possible to make a huge, then I really mean HUGE map, like, 16x, 30 or even 50x? For example a map shape with all alternatives in one map, land, peninsulas. Islands and also other huge continents? And space like GTA 5?. My army can be just like Napoleons army when he tried to learn Russia a lesson...A really long journey to conquer my enemy. Is that possible without breaking down computers all over the world? Is it possible at least make a bit bigger map than 4x?

Online games are simulated by steam servers, so thats where the whole thing is benchmarked on.

There are mods that add bigger map sizes but from what ive heard huge maps tend to take considerably more time to get generated.

Other than that its definitely possible to make larger maps.

It is certainly possible, but to how many people will want to play those sized maps?
There are about 75000-80000 copies of the game in the marketplace. That is not a whole bunch.

I remember some 9-11 hour games in Cossacks 1 on those huge maps. One participant in a 4v4 game in a very secure map position, actually took a nap for 2 hours during the game. This was before voice communications during games.

Even with far superior and advanced mods like OCMOD3, it is difficult to get people to play a mod. They fail to see that people who have designed, tested and play that particular mod are not, and will not, look for an advantage over others, but rather are looking for a superior game, properly balanced with extensive use of units heretofore largely ignored.

Wait there are people who genuinely think modders play because of imbalance? Thats really sad.

Based upon my own personal experience, there are two modders out there who have designed, coded and implemented a mod specifically to correct imbalance.

I don't know what is sad about that.

Well for starters i recommend you to actually read what im typing instead of the exact opposite of what i wrote.

I said that im surprised there are players that think modders only work on mods so they can be better than others because they changed the rules of the game to their own advantage.

Currently I play in 1040 size maps because I edited some files. Those maps are huge but it take long time to generate and load. I play alone and enjoy big maps. Fortunatelly developers said tha they will optimize the random map generation that will make possible to have even bigger maps.

I certainly apologize to you for misreading your original post due to my lack of facility of the English language caused by poor and limited schooling.

To correct my misconception, please explain in simple terms how I made a mistake. I imagine that at age 22, you know better.

You first said that there are people who dont play mods because they think modders, and those who play mods, play those versions so they have an advantage over other players. I said that its very sad to think that there are people who go by such a mindset, to which you asked why it is sad, thinking that i was referring to the mod-makers being sad, which wasnt the case.

That is not exactly what you said, or if it was intended to state that, it was done in an inarticulate fashion.
Rather than urinating on each other's shoes over this, may I suggest that we move on.

Basic condition of huge maps is that it supposed to be more than void for marching army. Mountains, lakes, rivers, valleys and deep forests, maybe some NPC villages or neutral ruins or lonely fields and dwellings. Endless map will have no reason to be played if there will be only repetitive environment = no points for orientation on the map.

Huge maps kill battles and We can't reach enemy territory. But I support all new kind of environment. Cossacks 3 deserve this.
