    1. On Sunday, April 8, there will be a one-day sale on Steam, where you can purchase a game or any of the add-ons with -50%, or whole "Cossacks 3 Experience" bundle with -65% discount

    2. We are working on a large update which will be published soon. There will be a lot of absolutely new features for the Cossacks 3, plus various bug fixes

    3. The first in our history teamed Season clash will be held from May 14 to May 20, we will publish all the details soon. Fourth season ends on May 5 at 21.59 in GMT

    4. We have not forgotten about the mac version, we are just ashamed to repeat that we do not know when the work will be over. But this is the only truth: the work is on, we do not know when it will end, and we are very, very sorry that everything is so excruciatingly long

We wish a wonderful weekend to you all!

I still hope for some improvements in the AI, playing random maps against the AI is a nightmare.
impossible means impossible to lose. I stopped modding/playing because the AI is so bad even if I gave them huge boni.

for example, if you start with a lot of resources and start with 18 century the AI builds up to 5 18c barracks before building a 17c barracks or a stable.

    Please have a look at

I haven't played C3 for months. Unless there are fixes for lag bugs* and frequent game crashes, I won't be coming back.

    * Lag Bugs - C3 does not handle multiplayer lag correctly. The host sees the game "as it really is". The lagging client sees a de-synchronised mess. To explain this... Both players could draw up in battle array with proper infantry lines for line tactics and then attack. The host will see clear lines going on attack. The client will see many men rotating forwards as if going in to bayonet, but they are not using bayonet. Then the client will see the whole battlefield become more disorganized with men from both armies mixed up everywhere: no lines, no formations, no structure of any kind. Now tactically, where should his cannon be fired? He cannot see what is the real main concentration of the enemy. Where should his cavalry charge? He cannot see infantry lines and their flanks. He cannot see distinct enemy cavalry formations. It is impossible for the lagging player to play tactically.

The game engine should calculate lag of client and then synch clashes allowing for lag, to keep the game synched closer. I know this is possible because I have seen other games which handle this problem much better. One possibility is to introduce standard command lag. Some games have command lag set to 500 ms (half a second) for all players in a multiplayer. The host lags 500 ms and the client lags 500 ms or by his internet lag whichever is the greater. It is even possible for the graphics involved in readying for attack to progress in such a way that the players are not aware of the command lag. On giving the attack command to troops, the troops begin an animation sequence of readying for attack. This animation sequence of readying for attack pads out the time until the formation actually goes on attack. The player feels that action is instant. Someone who swaps between being a host and a client might notice some slight difference in the speed of making ready for an attack. This is a tiny price to pay for a game where the clients actually get to the battle much more "as it really is".

In this day and age (2018), game engines really should be this good. Any game that can't solve this problem, I won't play it. I expect modern game performance or I would rather be mowing grass. Actually, I have been mowing grass. As a retired guy, I can make extra part-time income this way. Out in the fresh air and sunshine! It certainly beats being frustrated by a computer game that doesn't work properly.

Any more news? As much as I think none of us want to get our hopes up, it would be wonderful to see this game’s fortunes turned around with real gameplay additions

No more news that I can see. There have been no patches. I completely gave up playing and modding C3 some time ago. I'm not going to waste any more of my time on an unsupported game that does not work properly. C3 cannot drive what it claimed it would drive. "Grandiose battles of up to 32,000 soldiers on the battlefield." Well, it cannot drive anything like that so it was a false claim. There was never any development effort to move it to that goal.

Algeria must get a gunpowder unit, even if it is not powerful and slow to produce, they just need something to keep up with the European nations, especially if you like to play the game with Random nations and you end up with Algeria, you lose any hope of winning. Even just giving them a Bedouin shooter/musketeer unit you can have a chance.

Switzerland Jaeger & French Chasseur shooters range must be reduced, its just too much, it should still have range because this was historically true with those kind of rifles but it needs to be reduced for fairness they need a penalty somewhere, either make it range, production time, or firepower. Increasing the cost of units for balance never works because resources are never an issue in the game as well as having the market you can afford anything.
No multiplayer games allow Switzerland & French nations to play anymore because of the unfair advantage, this being the case there is really no need even having them in the game.

Yes, I'm supporting all your ideas Original. Algeria needs musketeer unit. Now Algeria is a very weak nation. Nobody wants to play this nation. On the contrary, Swiss and French armies very powerful with Jaegers and Chasseurs. For balance process French and Swiss shooters range must be reduced. Sometimes players use that unit on the hill and nobody approach to take the hill. But they can kill all armies with very long range shots.Algeria and Turkey also need 18th century equivalent dragoons (maybe native one).

    ...come again?

You mean, "I am thinking...we're working...yeah... on a large update...''' cause no real person affiliated with the development of core game ever attempted to interact with the fans.

Come on, ok be unsatisfacted with the game as it is now, but we cannot still judge them for their upcoming work of which we know absolutely nothing. I'll gladly wait for it if it's gonna be a great gust of fresh air for the game

No denying that. In spite of that, I am aware of Cossacks development history since in 2003 when studios fought over the strong Blizzard/EA/Microsoft competition, each trying to push up the concepts. Yey. Most likely back then GSC were a 5-man team, say for good measure, inventing what others couldn't dare, in damn 2D and engine on an unbelievable scale, you could amass frigging army of archers at the max pop. cap, nowhere near tech like Genie (Age2 engine) could achieve - all that considering the solid performance on mid-range computer. A small and balanced team of friends versus now; much experienced game designers that don't favor the wealth of a community they had walked a long way with. Then S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Cossacks made GSC a worldwide brand.

Nothing that studio does, neither the presence (lack of any) will bring things back into motion. Instead puts it in the harm's way, I couldn't think the franchise had to be turned into waste for an excuse to fool customers into thinking something good is coming under the same label.
