Several modders have made new units and new buildings. This appears to have been done by skillful re-scaling and/or re-skinning of existing unit graphics. For examples, Cavalli has re-done buildings to realism scale and Wralth has re-skinned units and the re-skins look really great. Has anyone done an entirely new unit? The reason I ask is that the devs seem to have no plans to bring back the Bedouin unit of C1 BTW. Graphically it was a great unit and gave another, much-needed dimension to Algeria and Turkey. Can anyone find a picture of the Bedouin unit? I can't find one on the net and my old PC that ran C1 BTW + Baddog + OCMOD1 + Balance died long ago and has gone to the PC graveyard. Would it be possible (in theory) to take a C1 unit graphic and use it as a basis to translate or copy it into C3 graphics?
Would it be possible (in theory) to take a C1 unit graphic and use it as a basis to translate or copy it into C3 graphics? Obviously not. Resolution is way too crappy and the C1 graphics are 8 directional sprite based ones. You can obviously recreate an entirely new unit based on C1 but you cant really use the existing assets otherwise. And no, nobody has done an entirely new unit before. We are all trash at 3D modelling far as i can tell and this "syr" guy hasnt done anything either.
We need Gexozoid, for those that don't know, he was the genius who created the excellent Napoleonic Mod for ACFB.
I dont care for new visuals I want truly unique units that differ more then is just tiny stats differences. like in Age of empires 2. for example. -a shooter that deals 25% more dmg at medium range, and 50% more at close range, (thats possible but I did that for all shooters) -a unit that gets more powerful with each kill, once this unit has a killcount of 1 he gets +1 damage and at 5 kills +1 damage again. -a pike unit that gives all shooters of -100 range malus when they want to attack them That would be nice to have but would be much harder to balance however.
It kinda looks like the lightcavalry unit we currently have minus the camel. Turkey already has a dragoon unit in my mod for 18th century though. I think i called it mounted janissary or something
As best I know, there was no mounted janissary. Jannisary was a truly type of infantry. But some sources claim that sipahis used pistols and carabins.
I never said my mod was even remotely trying to be historically accurate. If a unit fits nicely and is historically accurate thats nice, but as long as it fits the theme of the country i dont really care if it ever was a thing in history, ill slap it in anyways.
