I am having a little problem in understanding the translations?

    1. Is that a picture from the game developers?

    2. The stone mining is not the problem, its the manipulation of the market that needs changing?

    3. Network will meet the steam service? not sure what this means?

Make a dedicated GSC server. No more externals server providers please.

Basically what they say is that steam will host the server like Valve does with Steam.

Personally I think the 300% stone increase is fine.

It is the market system that runs up and down with trading that is the problem. This was fixed in ACFB, and C3. If a similar market system was implemented the problem would go away.

I don't agree GSC like most low-budget (and even some high-budget) companies will not be able to deliver a service better than steam.

Steam servers are perfect, pretty much 99% up time and you know they won't go offline in 5 years from now.

Specially the part " it won't go offline in 5 years from now" like most old game servers do.

    Dedicated server is much better.
What about those on GOG will they be able to play on steam with their GOG version ? No !

GSC has enough cash for a cheap and reliable server.
I assume Steam is not giving them free servers anyway. Nobody is.
In the end it costs more to rent servers than to own one server to manage the multiplayer part.

Steam servers are SEVERAL TIMES BETTER. The difference is simple if you have dedicated servers you need DEDICATED staff to run it. GSC can't even get a staff to run this forum how will they afford staff to run a dedicated server properly??? If they have a dedicated server it will be down most of the time and there will be tons of sync errors that will probably get fixed a month later or maybe never fixed. Dedicated server with a small company today is a huge nightmare and will ruin the multiplayer game. Steam servers have proven over and over in more than a 1000 games that they are the most reliable PC gaming servers. More reliable than HUGE companies services such as Origin or U(don't)Play.

GOG users should have no problem as a steam key should be included with the GOG version and with that key having access to the server is the easiest thing in the world. The whole point of GOG is getting the single-player version.

It's not propaganda this stuff is proven. Running dedicated servers has failed over and over and keeps failing and the failures are known by many unhappy players. Steam is the only reliable cheap solution at the moment. Steam goes down, but that is in average like 6 hours total per year.

There are no "cheap and reliable servers" where are you getting this from?? Please point out one successful example, just one.

Look at age of empires 3 five years in the market with their own server, horrible support Out of sync errors all of the time and server down for maintenance about twice every month on random dates. There were some people in the server that you could literally not play with them ever because the game would never load. Another example Planetary Annihilation dedicated servers, huge failures. They ended up gifting steam keys so people could switch to steam.

Also dedicated server will be in europe most likely so everyone else that is not in europe will have horrible ping. No thank you sir, i don't live in europe and i want to play the game with no latency online. Or you are also asking them to run servers in multiple locations? I don't think they can afford that, that would be for really big companies and sometimes even they fail.

" In the end it costs more to rent servers than to own one server to manage the multiplayer part. " Show an example of this. It has never been more expensive to rent server at least not in the US maybe in some other location it is. Can you please give some reference to this? Buying server requires, staff, locations price, servers software and hardware. It will never be more profitable unless you are like valve or amazon where you are providing the services to thousands of other companies and you make much more money in the long run.

Wow very nice concept art picture. I would like to see more of them. It would also be great if the developers would tell us how many polygons they use for the units and buildings. If they would give us an example file of one infantry-, cavalry- and a canon unit, we could already start making our own mods.

GSC dedicated server will be the same as Riot Games servers or Battle Net servers.

GSC can have dedicated servers which will always be better than third party ones.

HAHHAAA!!! You think GSC is at the level of Riot Games and Blizzard? (GSC games might be just as good or better but in terms of budgets they don't even come close)

You have no idea what GSC is right now sir. You have no idea. Riot Games and Battle.net servers both have more down time in one year than steam. Riot Game servers are famous for being DDoSed multiple times throughout the year with little to no response from the people maintaining it. There are hacker groups famous for taking down LoL servers (like DERPTrolling and others, but non for steam servers) Battle.net is one of the most stable after steam, but its Blizzard the company that probably has the most experience running game servers in the entire world (WOW servers were the most populated game servers in the world for quite a few years). How can you compare these companies to what is left of what was once known as GSC. GSC not even at its prime could compared to Riot or Blizzard. The fact that two giants can run good dedicated servers doesn't make it better for a small company. When I asked for an example I was referring to something that made sense. For example: NASA or the Russian Army can probably run great dedicated servers (better than steam) but it will be a bad idea to use them to compare because GSC has nowhere near the level of budgets they have. Same thing applies to Blizzard and Riot. Unfortunately, there is no need for discussion. We will see soon.

    1. Yes i think they can have 1 dedicated server. It is not that hard or expensive you know.

    2. And you know better ? You work at GSC ? Who cares if Riot Games is DDosSed ? Are you a hacker and you know that Riot Games is DDosSed ? Are you part of those famous hacking groups ? You really are a hacker aren't you ?

    3. Steam sucks big time !
GSC is still working and nothing happened to the company. You can get a server with full protection at lower rates than Steam.

I already said that one server is ridiculous. You would have people from the US playing in Europe with a lot of latency. One dedicated server will only benefit people that live close to the server, probably countries in Europe. Everyone else will lag badly. Games have different server locations for a reason. They don't use server locations just for show. It has a purpose.

I don't have to work at GSC to read news, and interviews about the company stance in terms of budget and about all the people that no longer work in the company. In the news it says that they don't have a publisher so they are relying on their own limited budget.

It is important to know that Riot got DDoSed because it shows that dedicated servers can bring many problems if they are not properly administered. I know that it happen because I read news, you don't have to be a hacker to read about the hacks and the team that did it. All you need is to read news and inform yourself.

GSC is still working indeed but stuff did happen to the company please read the news and interviews for more information. It seems you have no idea.
