So Turkey gets a whole new look. Interesting, but I think the dome looks a bit strange with those plates. You may not like the old "sand buildings" but they were not so far from reality. And the tartar bowmen are a turkish unit in this game again. I would more like to prefer if turkey would use its own mounted bowmen and the tartars as a separate faction. (turkish mounted bowmen) (Hasam mosque Egypt.)
First of all, Turkey is named Turkey not Ottoman Empire so Egypt architecture should not appear. There are not completly new buuldings but just new textures, which are more historical, but still Turkey is only one nation, which does not have any historic building.
Are they? I have never seen such strange looking giant metal plates on a dome of a mosque. If you compare the pictures you can also see that the buildings have different proportions. The market looks pretty new to me. It may be called Turkey in the game, but it is used to represent the whole Ottoman Empire in the game. (In Campaings, single player missions and so on...) Otherwise the Tartars wouldn't be a turkish unit in the game ; ) This is very good in my opinion. No nation should have such famous historical buildings, because they look super silly. For example: In the game every small little English village looks like the City center of London. Most of those buildings are unique in the real world. But in the game you can build the "Big Ben" or the "Kremlin" like they are standardised ordinary buildings. A lot of those buildings are also from a wrong time frame. The english clock Tower "Big Ben" for example was build in the 19th Century (1859)!!! So it does not even fit in this game. Other Buildings are just pieces cut out of real world buildings. So the Prussian townhall for example is just a little piece of "Schloss Scharlottenburg" (which was in reality the home of the king) and looks very weird if you have seen this building in real live, like I did. So If you just have a little knowledge of architecture Cossacks3 must look very strange for your eyes. In AC GSC did a much better job. The buildings there looked more realistic, had a better size and were much better researched. In fact AC had the best (American) Indian buildings in game history. I am still searching for the sources they used to modell them.
Some turkish mosques: Spoiler Yavuz Selim Mosque - Istanbul (1528) Green Mosque - Iznik (1391) Muradiye Mosque - Edirne (1436) Süleymaniye Mosque - Istanbul (1558) Hisar Mosque - Izmir (1598) Bayezid II Mosque - Amasya (1486) Pertev Pasha Mosque - Izmit (1579) Sultan Ahmed Mosque - Istanbul (1616) Selimiye Mosque - Konya (1558) Turkish mosque - Cossacks 3 (...) A completely different architectural style. Turkey should get Ottoman architecture. Hasam mosque represents Mamluk architecture. However you're right that it was still closer to Ottoman Empire than it is now with this strange dome. Yes, such Notre Dame looks strange as a generic church. However buildings should be based on local architectural styles while in Turkey they aren't.
So you would like to see France and England with the same buildings in the game? Turkey and Algeria will probably have the same as in c1. All nations have architecture based on historical buildings and some historical too. If you don't like historical - ok, but why it can not be based on Ottoman architecture? Center of Ottoman Empire was Anatolia and Rumelia not Egypt.
Wow, love the non-sand filled architecture! If going to with the France and England example, I too think it's a bit silly to have countless famous landmarks, even in your tiny village - I don't think his point was that he didn't like historical, I think it was more that it would be odd to encounter numerous villages with the Tower of London et all! My personal take on that would be that the super historical (and most likely 'capital'-based) buildings get built once, to represent your main 'capital' city, then all additional buildings on the same lot use a more generic, but localised building set, for example after you have built your first English town hall (Palace of Westminster!), then all others will look more like common 17th/18th century Western European ones. This would be used for the French, Dutch etc. Of course.....Mod territory though! (I'll have to dust off my copy of 3d Studio!)
Haven't heard a single word since i got my beta confirmation email, either they have cancelled it or they have a very small closed group already in beta.
Even if it hasn't, you can assume that if they do have a beta at this point it will be one single weekend max.
It the one battle animation we have seen, there was no re-load animation. But who knows, we will wait and see.
You can see battle video. There never was reload animation like in AC. It's good because animation make soldiers slower.
There is no realistic reload animation because they are going for a faster pace arcade gameplay style of Cossacks 1 rather than the slower more realistic style of AC and Cossacks 2. It will likely be something a mod will have to take care of.
Does this mean the game will be unplayable without Internet? Would'nt it be easier to just add a CD-key to the game, that is unlocked with a code?
