Patch Notes 05.05.17 (1.5.4.72.5195)

    Dear friends!

    We are glad to present patch, which adds new minimal size of map to Cossacks 3. This option will ideally suit fast and fierce 1x1 and 2x2 battles. This is the final patch until the release of our next DLC - Path to Grandeur (16.05). Next patch will be released simultaneously with DLC, and will provide changes in balance, introduce new units to existing nations along with other improvements.

    Patch Notes 05.05.17 (1.5.4.72.5195)

    General:
    1. Implemented algorithm to search for proper place to construct a building, if current position is unavailable. Now the game would propose to use proper place nearby
    2. Campaign units stats were corrected, in correspondence to latest rebalance patch.
    3. Transport ship`s movement speed increased on 25%, transport capacity increased from 80 to 120 units
    4. Added new hotkey for pause , for keyboards without Pause key: Ctrl+Shift+P
    5. Decreased game, save loading and map generation times for some users, especially while running the game on slow hard drives

    AI Adviser (function from DLC Guardians of the Highlands):
    1. Fixed an error, which caused adviser to place too much guards.
    2. Fixed an error, which caused lags in very long games with adviser.

    Errors:
    1. Fixed errors in wrong display of resources on resource panel.
    2. Fixed an error, which allowed to exceed artillery limits.
    3. Achievements for destroying 10 and 100 buildings (The destroyer and The scourge of God) are now functioning properly.
    4. Improved an AI for Turkey and Algeria. Fixed an error, which caused his inability to progress on island maps, and irrational resource collection peasants distribution.
    5. Fixed an error, when after pressing surrender button player's units and buildings kept living for long time. Now base destruction is being processed faster.

    Units balance:
    17th century musketeer - Poland:
    - Production time decreased from 6 to 5 sec

    Winged Hussar - Poland:
    - Bullet protection increased from 4 to 5

    Reiter:
    - Bullet protection increased from 5 to 6.

    Cuirassier:
    - Sword protection increased from 3 to 4
    - Bullet protection increased from 9 to 10

    Cavalry guard - Saxony:
    - Bullet protection increased from 8 to 9

    Multibarrel cannon:
    - Multibarrel cannons now can form squads (formation type - line, like howitzer).

    Changed cannonball protection for armored units. Now resistance to cannonball fragments damage is more closely tied to units visual armor.


    Buildings balance:
    1. Changed construction cost and next building cost multiplier coefficient for 17th century barracks:
    - Next building cost multiplier decreased from 10 times to 5 times.
    - Increased gold cost from 300 to 500

    In practice, first 4 barracks had next costs:
    100 wood, 100 stone, 300 gold
    1000 wood, 1000 stone, 3000 gold
    10000 wood, 10000 stone, 30000 gold
    100000 wood, 100000 stone, 300000 gold

    New costs:
    100 wood, 100 stone, 500 gold
    500 wood, 500 stone, 2500 gold
    2500 wood, 2500 stone, 12500 gold
    12500 wood, 12500 stone, 62500 gold

    This change should increase european nations dynamics and variety of game styles.
    2. Changed building cost and next building cost multiplier for Castle (Scotland)
    - Next building cost multiplier decreased from 4 times to 3 times
    - Changed cost from 300 wood, 400 stone, 5000 gold to 500 wood, 2000 stone, 4000 gold.

    So the Winged Hussars are better with this patch

    Good job.;)

    I propose to increase attack ( + 2) for this units : Prussian Hussar , Turkish Light Infantryman , Polish Rider , Polish Pikeman.

    Decrease Winged Hussar production time from 30 to 20

    I think the Polish Winged Hussar needs improvements, no one goes Poland! It's so annoying when it's the same nations every multiplayer game. I have tried going Spain a few times because no one else will, I find them quite a good nation to go since the last couple of balance patches, but do something with Poland so we get a more diverse range of nations being played in multiplayer battles.

    Cuirassier vs Spakh has been balanced wrong, the Spakh is a lot stronger than the Cuirassier, the Cuirassier should be one of the strongest of cavalry units.

    I liked multibarrel cannon line formation. Although I lost the multiplayer game. I've tried it this formation with 5 multibarrel cannon. Good job!...

    Usually I like your changes, but here I think you got it wrong.
    - Now in 0 pt games, the 1st barracks costs more gold, so this is trickier for European nations who are willing to fight algeria/turkey in potentially small maps.
    - The 2nd barracks' cost is 2500 gold, which is still very close to 3000 so it's still very costly, so not a big difference here. In high-level games you will have to make the same choices (use gold for more valuable things like diplomatic center at first, etc)
    - The 3rd barracks is still expensive enough to not let you build it before 18th century.

    You should have set the cost multiplier to 4 times and the first barracks cost to 400 gold. This way, 17th barracks would cost 400gold, 1.6k gold (good thing you are able to wait less before building it), 6.4k gold (more intermediate cost, more interesting), 25.6k gold. Building 2nd and 3rd barracks would then be true choices, with several trade-offs. Also, this would balance eur nations a bit more in comparison with ukraine, russia, and algeria/turkey. And to prevent an increase in army sizes, it would make sense to increase slightly the recruitment time of eur. pikemen and musketeers.

    And I say this is very good move. You start game with 1000 resources so you still can build barrack if it either costs 300 or 500 gold. This patch was long waited thank you :)

    Yep, it's a good idea, although my point is that they could have done much better, especially as the cost of the 2nd barracks of european nations hasn't really changed. It doesn't change "dynamics and variety of game styles". Except for Scotland (with their castles).
    But heh it show that devs are looking for the right balance improvements. Still encouraging.

    So where are the patchnotes in patch.txt?

    Am i supposed to merge files based on my gut feeling now?
