After literally months of searching, I've finally found how to edit player colours - below some screenshots. This allows for more realistic greens, blues etc so that you can pair nations with their historical colour. To install, simply coppy the classes file into your scripts/lib folder, and overwrite the primitives file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Cossacks 3\data\hud\textures with the one given here.

Good job. I was hoping that somebody could change the colors.

    Good work
Seems like he deleted his comment.

  5. I was looking for something of this sort, especially because the "white" colour I tried to use for Austria apparently turned up to be a bloody cyan (see the Pandurs' trousers), just lighter than the other one (used here by my King's Musketeers for their jackets and breeches).

I'll check out your mod later on, hope you bleached that boring cyan! We need the white player colour as much as we would need the black one (which I fear is not present)

Yep Cyan's gone! I'll upload a new version this weekend with some fixes to the ui display and some more historical colours. Off the top of my head Cyan is now a Saxon green

  7. Uh really - thought it matched an "Austrian White" of the sort. I bet by the UI display fix you mean the tiny icon flags in the matchmaking window still correspond to the vanilla colours right? If so I'll try out all of them later.

Another thing I may suggest, if you wish: England and Russia both have, history-wise, red uniforms for the vast majority of their regiments (at least as far as I've read and seen). Since I'm absolutely sure that other Nations share the same colour, maybe we could have different shades of red/other colours by overwriting pointless ones, like you did with cyan.

There are a couple of other idiotic colours I think there's also a squits-like brown (guess it's "Camel" officially) lmao.

Bravo for your mod anyway, greetings from a fellow Padan.

    UPDATE

As promised - just drop the classes script into the lib folder and the primatives into hud/textures. So far there are a red, two blues, a white, two greens, yellow, orange and a sort of salmon colour. The rest are as before. Might add an even darker red too

Noice, I just wished that you used the American English name.

I hate those British "u"s in words lol.

  10. I speak for myself but us Europeans are by standards taught British English as it is considered the default form of English which in fact should be by historical reasons. Being sort of an amateur in the matter of the history of languages you should understand why of that U, it's simple, English is heavily influenced by Norman French. Inadvertently though, Americans restored the way color was written in Latin.

I know dude I was just kidding lol, cheer up.

It just still looks weird to me when I see Armour, colour as well as centre and theatre or how they pronounce "garage" along with a few other words like lorry for truck.

Anyhow we're derailing the topic here which is not my aim.

  12. no worries, neither was my intent to do that. I only tried to provide some interesting trivia on the reason of those odd U's.

This mod is great work, the units look so much better. This mod together with the better graphics mod and the realistic combat mod really change the game for the better for those who like a slower style of play. Mod tools and map editor soon I hope then modders can really get to work.
