Great! Now when Scotland will be playable - England should get their own unique units like Ironsides Cavalry or Royal Horse Guards. Now England has only Highlanders.

But England doesn't need unique units. Historically they didn't have much. When England became the British Army which it did by mid 1600's it was the same and yes the Ironsides. But regarding Horse Guards which were just Cuirassiers until 1750 when they were officially named. There was not many unique units. England can still give late Scotland a beating look at Culloden.

I do not require much from the developers. Only 1-2 units for England , Venice and playable Crimean Khanate in future.

However the only issue is, you make units for one you must make for all. And unfortunately it all comes down to paying money for the models.

Every nation needs their own units. The game will grow because of it. just a re-skin will make the game play so much better. attract many more players, even bring a few back I would believe. Its just too bad it wasent done from the beginning.

Each nation should. The trick (aside from the skins for the units) is to have those units compliment already existing other units and not to just be carbon copy of another nation's unique unit with a different uniform.

Then comes the real work with the mods. What speed of production of the unique unit, offensive and defensive bonuses and costs thereof, formation bonuses, if any and about ten other things.

Surely Scotland will have a highlander? it makes no sense for England to keep this unit with Scotland in the game now. What units could possibly fit in to the games time frame for England? Will the devs even care enough to give us a new English unit. England is my favourite country to play but i feel they are lacking compared to others and i just think the Highlander should be a Scottish unit along with the bagpiper. England deserves it's own unit just as Scotland deserves theirs.

Why are some of you asking for the highlander to be removed from the English army? When the Scottish king took over England and Ireland due to his ancestry line, they made a trade union and joined their armies. No reason why England should not have the highlander.

I havea request to the developers - can you do something about the mercenaries, at least to remove the sich cossack from the western nations and give them some other fast cavalry type, croat, gussar (serbian) and etc? It now looks funny to see sich cossacks in England and Spain. The archer also deserves a different uniform for the European nations. Thanks.

The highlander, was in the English and British army. Britains oldest regiment was the Royal Scots and the Scots made up most of the British/English army. You must understand that England/Britain in the game goes to the 18th Century where Scottish independent companies were raised to stop the Highland Rebels. For example the Black Watch.

Has Scotland already been implemented. I ask only because I wanted to play an AI game as Scotland, pulled down the menu for choice of nation and Scotland was not there.

DLC comes out on April 11th.

Latest patch was a change in multiplayer options, and some balancing.

I understand that the Highlander may have served in English/British armies, but with Scotland in the game it doesn't sit right with me that England's only special unit isn't even English. This is a Arcade RTS game not a simulator, every nation has something special except for poor Venice. I see no reason why anyone would play England over Scotland without its own unique unit. Some nations have multiple special units and now England will simply have a Scottish copy/paste unit since Scotland is also getting the highlander according to Cossacks facebook page.

Yes but the "Highlander" for Scotland isn't the same as the Highlander for England. The Scottish rebel Jacobite armies in the 1700's to 1746 when they were defeated at Culloden was not a regimented army. Where as even during the Jacobite rebellions and in Flanders as well as used in the battle of Fontenoy. It was regimented Highlanders like you see for England in the game. However, I think in game, if and when you switch to the 18th Century the nation should no longer be called England but however called Great Britain.

Now as for giving "England" a unique unit I am all for that, however, they really didn't have much in the way of unique units. You could say 17th cent, ironsides, sure. But in the early 18th Cent it was mostly the same as everyone else. Musketeers, Grenadiers and cavalry was much the same.
