When it says that "the mini-expansion will not be included in the deluxe edition" does it mean that we have to pay, or that it will be free? I don't mind either way, can't wait to play as the Scots! I assume they will have quite a bit of melee infantry considering their famous highland charge

Thanks. That seems reasonable to me considering how low the price for the base game was

I think the bigger mismatch here that causes all this confusion is there is England in the game and not Brittish Empire. Same applies for Turkey - it was Ottoman Empire back then which consisted of many different nations, not just Turkey (although the idiot Erdogan would want people to think it was Turkey).

England ofcourse should have Scots. The main problem is that they do not have anything unique. In my opinion the should have :

    -Muskeeter 18c (re-skin)
    -Grenadier ( re-skin)
    - Add Ironsides Cavalry 17c.
    - Add Horse Guards 18c.

I hope that someday England , Spain and Venice will get their own units. Also waiting for Bedouins and desert maps in future.

So do I get that straight. If you dont buy that mini-expansion you cant play as scots? Even in multiplayer. As far I know you could play with new nations in multiplayer even if you did not buy the expansion (DOB and RTG).

So if they made scots OP, everyone who doesnt buy that will lose.

Also the AI helper (dont know how much help it is) is only available for those who buy that mini-expansion.

By the way I find 8€ quite expensive for a "mini" expansion that only offers one additional nation.

Sounds like cossacks is turning into a pay 2 win game.

So has anyone played with that so far?

No no it's not like this at all. With the other 'expansions' you are talking about were dlcs and are available with the deli edition. Guarding of the highlands is a add on, not only does it allow you to play as the great nation Scotland it allows you to have so helped as well.
The team have done well this time and they have advised players to upgrade your troops. It's worth the money.

Personally I don't like the ai advisor but it's good for new comers. Scotland as a nation is worth ever penny from the lovely new buildings to the charge of the highland clansmen the team have done well.

AI helper is nice if you are a beginner in the game, but when you know the game you won't use most of what he offer. He does offer some comfort to the player like showing the insteresting upgrade directly on the upper right corner, sending peasant to mine or repair building (though it tend to send the peasant you didn't want), but I doubt you will become really better with its help.

Scotland is a nice nation, probably good in mid and early game, but later on it won't be able to compete against a full XVIII century army especially if the said army is prussian, danish or some other strong musketeer !
