Every one is waiting the release date? right!
Why so serious! ... let us make some noise!
We have very little to talk about cause so little information about the game has been released. That being said the "news and updates discussion" thread has over 1000 replies.
I don't know why there is a little information about the game... Why this mysterious
I Begin dreaming about the releasing date.
You will see... Juni,Juli < beta August<preorder
hehehe ... maybe you are right!
I sure hope he isn't, I'd like to play this game over the summer holidays.
ya sure ... hope to play together in the summer ... I will make you cry and suffer... hehehe
I don't mind waiting but at least we could get some news (even just pics...). I get that they are hard working on the game, but when I read on other threads that the communications team self-congratules about their excellent work, it pisses me off.
They are not communicating anything. Here in the forums condor_fly is the communication team. Atem just shows some screenshots every once in a while but it's all condor_fly.
Yes this was a post from condor_fly I was referring to. So condor_fly as you read us, give us something!
Condor only has the ability to release items that are approved by the developers. As will we all even after the beta is underway.
You mean now? Because before he was a staff member he translated a bunch of information that we didn't have access to in the English forum and he even gave us images that were not really posted by any of the developers such as the concept art and others as well as links to the russian interviews. But yeah, now since he is part of the team he only does stuff approved by the developers.
No matter if it's condor_fly's fault or developpers' fault, the thing is that their communication is really bad. When a game is delayed like this, players appreciate little messages from dev from time to time, even if they do not convey fundamental news, but just to reassure players, to show them that dev care about them.
So once again, I totally support the fact that dev take their time to release a good game, what I don't like is this absence of communication.
The sad thing is that Cossacks was a really good game, yet very few people seem to know about it. Microsoft's Age of Empires seems to be much more popular, not because it was better (Cossacks was better, in my opinion), but because Microsoft and the companies associated did a good job marketing the game.
Releasing screenshots, real gameplay videos and news shouldn't be something they do for us, but rather something they do to help themselves. Steam is a great way to publish or announce a game. However, it would be even better if they start realizing that their lack of communication is actually hurting themselves. Less popularity leads to less money.
I mean, seriously, forum bots are posting more frequently than the devs. Even Nowy, while being banned, is posting as much as the devs.
Agreed. Regardless of the game quality, this lack of communication will greatly limit the number of sales. That's sad but this is reality.
A few days ago I read another paper about a game which was a huge disappointment at the release, but because of a strong marketing force, was sold a lot. I definetely prefer that you put money in the game development rather than in advertising, but communicating a bit more would not cost much except that a little time. If even your small fan base here tells you that, you should listen to it. WE are your best communication team, WE will spread the word, so feed us.
