I said this in another thread but now it's a bigger concern to me. Are we going to be seeing any women in the game? From the screenshots there are literally no women. I thought this would be a better thread to discuss this subject since there is so much commentary about the screenshots lately. History does says that male Cossacks were the one who fought but I am not asking for female soldiers but rather female peasants as there were females in this age.

Maybe for the Ukranian nation women had the leader of the household taking care of children role but there were other nations in which women did not play the same roles. Is the Ukrainian tradition being applied to all nations and that's why there are no females in the game? This seems a little bit harsh with the women of the time and promotes the views of machismo.

Historically women were often used as peasant in many nations.

I guess it would do no harm to make half of the peasants female. Why not.

I think is a big deal in a game based on reality even if its by a little bit. It will add to the variety in the game and it will female like we actually have an even society. Even if women were not allowed to fight because of ancient, outdated traditions.

I can only see this as a good thing. Other games have done the random man/woman villager/peasant thing for aeons, so come on GSC please :)

(I quoted Nowy to respond in this thread who is more appropriate)
I don't know where you did fetch this idea of women doing supportive role in agriculture but everything that was taught to me and I read tend to say the exact contrary, men and women do the same job when it come to agricultural work. There is plenty of children do to the supportive role.

In AOE, I usually put the female peasants on farms or hunting game for food. Usually I set the males to the heavier work chopping trees and mining.

But yeah, I have no issues with female peasants.

I fetch that idea from real live. Males are stronger and can work harder than famales. Therefore males were employed mainly in harder work while females worked mainly at homes, gardens, orchards and closest farm buildings. They also can worked at meadow green grass or on cereals plants in harvest times.

Women can worked hard, but normally they can not do the same work with the same efficiency as men did.

Older children of course did supportive roles at farms, but small childern never can did such work.
Women must kept eye on children without a doubt. They also must cook some food for their husbands and kids.
Pregnant women also worked weaker than males.

All these mean you can met more males than females at work in open field in peace time.
In war time some males went on war, then women must replece them in hard work.

I doubt that the game can represent all these variety of males and females employments.

I see political corectness... there wasn't woman in most of European countries, if they were single cases and only a few.

men, are you ready to kill the women in the game?
I am not, that's why I've removed the women's warrior models in Attila total war

Everyone knows that before the 20th century, women didn't exist and that men found offspring in the cabbage patch.

In Cossacks we are in war time, we mobilize the men in our army !! More female working in the field !
No more seriously when I began the university, the professor began his first lesson by saying similar things and then he said "you see all those stereotype ? Forget them".
This year I even worked on a law text of the early 18th century about contract for seasonal farm worker (and there is a lot) they don't make distinction between men and women because the two do the same things.
And pregnant really ? They aren't pregnant all the time ! And don't tell me that because of the high mortality of little children they had lot of childs because this is a false view, in France for exemple the average is between 4 and 5 childs by couple.

I don't really care if they are women peasant in Cossacks but please don't go around saying the work of peasant women is to take care of the house while the men work in the fields because it's not the case.

We should be also allowed to form divisions composed only from the minorities corresponding to certain orientations.

    Just as an example:

We should follow with the spirit of times! The game cannot be too sexist and contain only men, women should be also in, as well as other minorities!

It was in the encient grees! In catholix Europe 16-17 and 18 centuries they should be berned on autodafe

Come on, auto-da-fé was then already not so common, and game is going to be released now! hehe

BTW here is a nice video clip from one movie with this event:

And auto-da-fé was THE LAST CHANCE TO CONVERT! So only the most stone headed were fried at the end, those that would have been killed anyway some day soon because of their characters :D They were even worse than Nowy! :)

That would make some players send these into suicidal missions. Sorry, couldn`t resist to say this hahahaha.

I think I played one called Agnes, beat her twice and never met her again for another go.

Then forget your stereotypes and think better how many males were mobilised and how many males and females were in total population? Soldiers was little percent in total population!
I think that many females were pregnant at the same time. Lot of young childeren also needed females isn't it.
So, there still were less females ready to work in the field !

This is false assumption. You do not know what these workers really did in the farms. Better read some more historical texts, then you will know that I am right. Clear economy efficiency predestined males to harder work while females to other more supportive roles. Therefore more males were employed in harder work as like ploughing, sowing, horse transporting, heavy weight moving, fishing etc. Average females were naturaly weaker human beings.

There were many pregnant females and that situation lasted quite long time.
I never said anything about children mortality, so please do not medley there. Better think that 4 or 5 children needed famales safe-keeping for few years.

I am sorry, that was real case. If you will think wider under that case you will know that I am right.

What do you mean by this?
Believe me I am not worse than you bad, bad Hipolit. :D
